In Ukraine, harvest of winter crops in 2015 may exceed last year volumes — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

In Ukraine, winter crops are mainly in good and satisfactory condition, only 13% of crops in the south are problematic. If farmers will manage to properly fertilize and protect plants — the harvest volumes could exceed last year’s. Such statement, according to the press service of Ministry of Agrarian Policy, was made on April 28, by Mr. Yaroslav Krasnopolskiy, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to him, some fields in the Luhansk region are still mined; yet, it is in the process of demining.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of April 28, in Luhansk region there is 33.5 thousand ha. (43% of the forecast) planted with grains and legumes, in Donetsk — 100.2 thousand ha. (89%).
