In Ukraine wheat harvest exceeds American harvest by a third
In 2014, average yield of wheat in Ukraine amounted to 38.9 c/ha, which is 32% higher than American grain (29.4 c/ ha). This is evidenced by evaluation of USDA experts, «APK-Inform» writes.
Productivity of Ukrainian wheat traditionally exceeds American grain yield, but the excess of 32% is a record in the last decade.
In addition, wheat yield in the US is stable and in the last decade ranges 26.0-31.7 c/ha, which indicates almost full use of potential for improving this indicator.
In recent years, grain harvests in Ukraine are demonstrating sustained growth- from 23.4 c/ha in 2007 to 38.9 c/ha in 2014, which indicates existing reserves for further growth.
