Informa Economics raised its forecast of global corn harvest in 2014/15 MY once again

In its latest report, the experts of the international research firm Informa Economics raised their forecast for global corn production in 2014/15 MY- to 984.3 million tons, compared to 982.5 million tons publicized a month earlier. This figure, however, still falls short of the record result from a season earlier (988.5 million tons).

In 2014/15 MY, the upward adjustment of the gross corn harvest affected the US- to 368.1 (365.7;353.7) million tons and the EU countries- to 72.5 (70.6; 64) million tons.

Forecast for Brazil, however, has been lowered to 69.7 (70.6; 79.3) million tons.

For China and Argentina the numbers remained unchanged- 213.8 (218.5) million tons and 23 (26) million tons, respectively.

It should also be noted that harvesting of corn in Argentina and Brazil will be completed in 2015.
