The United States may not have enough elevators to store corn crop of 2014/15 MY
American farmers expect emergence of a new problem associated with storage of new corn crop. This was reported by Reuters news agency.
The fact is that the supply of crops in the United States, in the current season, may exceed grain storage capacities in many regions. As a result, farmers will have to keep large part of their harvest in bulk, which will lead to a rapid quality deterioration of the grain, unless it will be sold as soon as possible.
Lack of storage space on the elevators will already be felt by the end of October. It may be assumed that in order to avoid potential problems with grain storage, American farmers will try to sell their harvest as soon as possible, which, in turn, will have bearish impact on grain prices. At the same time, if grain will start to stale and lose in quality, it also, no doubt, will have an impact on prices.
