Forecast for global corn production in 2014/15MY increased — IGC
In 2014/15MY, according to a recent report of IGC analysts, world corn production will amount to 973 million tons; this is 4 million tons more than previously predicted, but 9 million tons less than last year’s result.
The main adjustment occurred in the United States due to favorable weather conditions for seed development — 355 million tons, which exceeds previous estimates by 2 million tons.
In 2014/15MY world’s ending stock of corn is projected to be 190 million tons, against 187 million tons predicted earlier, and 173 million tons a year earlier.
