In 4 months (July-October) of 2013/14 MY, the volume of grain exports from Ukraine to Asian countries exceeded 2.3 million tons, which is almost 10 times more than during the same period in 2012/13 MY (230.6 thousand tons).

In 4 months (July-October) of 2013/14 MY, the volume of grain exports from Ukraine to Asian countries exceeded 2.3 million tons, which is almost 10 times more than during the same period in 2012/13 MY (230.6 thousand tons).
The greatest increase in the absolute export valume was recorded in the direction of Southeast Asia countries, in the reporting period there was 917.3 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain supplied, which is almost 23 times (+877.3 thousand tons) more than in the first 4 months of last season (40 thousand tons). In the current season, there was 735 thousand tons more grain supplied to East Asian countries, and to South Asian - by 459.9 thousand tons more.
In general, the share of grain exported to Asian countries in the current season was 28.4 % of the total volume of Ukraine’s grain export; while same period of last season, the export share in the same direction was only 3%. Thus, to date, there is a significant reorientation of Ukrainian grain export flows to Asian countries, which traditionally are world's major grain importers.
