Ukraine to plant spring crops for the harvest-2014 throughout 8.7 mln ha
Ukraine plans to plant spring grains in 2014 throughout the areas of 8.7 mln ha, an increase of 300 thsd ha compared with the current year index, stated Nikolai Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on December 3.

According to him, agrarians will increase the areas under the main export-oriented crop - maize. Also, soybean areas will grow, as the demand for the oilseed on foreign markets is also increasing.
N.Prysyazhnyuk noted that the Ministry is working on a preliminary structure of the planted areas, as the final report on winter crops will be ready in a few weeks.
