Ukraine is growing its maritime export of corn to the countries of South- Asian region

As of November 19, 2013, the maritime supplies of corn from the country have reached 869.6 thousand tons, which is 3 times more than at the same time last month. In addition, by the date mentioned, in ports there was another 646.1 thousand tons of corn declared to be exported by the end of November.

In addition, by the date mentioned, in ports there was another 646.1 thousand tons of corn declared to be exported by the end of November.
The reason for this growth was the entry into the final stage of a new crop harvesting and increased supply volume of grain by the producers on the domestic market; as well as declining export of other crops abroad, as a result of what an appropriate export infrastructure was freed. 
The handling of corn has mainly been done in Odesskyi (428.3 thousand tons) and Uzhnyi (389.3 thousand tons) ports. In addition, grains, yet in much smaller volumes, were processed at Illichevskyi and Mykolaivskyi ports.
Currently, the main buyers of November are Turkey -160 thousand tons, Spain- 125 thousand tons, and Egypt -81.3 thousand tons. The increase of export to the countries of South Asian region should be mentioned separately: that is, in the current month Malaysia supplied 63 thousand tons of Ukrainian corn, another 60 thousand tons, each, went to Japan and South Korea. 
Taking that, in October 2013, the largest volumes of grain were purchased by Spain (80 thousand tons), Egypt (55 thousand tons) and Japan (50 thousand tons); total maritime export of the crop amounted to 936.9 thousand tons.
Thus, since the beginning of 2013/14 MY (October-September), marine export shipments of corn have already amounted to 1 807,5 thousand tons. in the current season, total grain export may reach 18 million tons.
