In the past 35 years this is one of the most powerful land reforms in China.
In China , there is no private ownership of land whatsoever, everything is under the state and collective ownership; the experiment, however, should untie farmer’s hands a little, and add some flexibility to the laws of land.
This should give a boost to the prosperity of the farm and make a profit to farmers. “The goal is to stimulate the land market”, - said Tan Shuao, specialist in rural development at the Renmin University in Beijing. “The policy on rural land should be changed in order to correct the problem of financial discrepancies among population of city and villages”.
After a meeting to set economic policy for the next decade, the leaders of Communist Party promised to give rural residents more ownership rights and reduce the gap between capabilities of urban and rural residents.
