Over the past few years, Ukraine has become one of the largest players on the global food market, constantly increasing its exports of agricultural goods. It is expected that by 2021 Ukraine will be able to supply 33 million tons of grain onto foreign markets. The increasing volumes of harvest will contribute to such growth.
"According to the forecasts of FAO experts and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, by 2021 our country will be able to export 33 million tons of grain annually. Increasing volumes of harvest will contribute to such a growth, which can be achieved through increased productivity, "- said Mr. Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, on today’s briefing and meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Also, the head of the department said that this year Ukraine will be exporting more than 23 million tons of grain, reported “Kazakh-Zerno” news agency, referring to the report made by press service of the agricultural department of Ukraine.

"In the current year, we estimate our export potential of the domestic grain market to be more than 23 million tons. This will help us retain our status as one of the largest players on the global grain market ", - said the head of the department.

Mr. Prysyazhnyuk also said that quarter of overall Ukrainian export belongs to agrarian products. Ukraine owns 9.2% of the global grain trade. In 2012, every 11th tons of grain, sold on the global market, was of Ukrainian origin.
