EU countries will be making independent decisions on the prohibition of production of GM crops
On January 13, the European Parliament passed a law under which the EU countries will be allowed to make independent decisions regarding the prohibition of GM crop production on their territories.
It should also be noted that this innovation will be welcomed by such countries like France and Germany, which were opposing against cultivation of GM crops. On the other hand, the law is not welcomed by countries such as Spain and the UK, which support the production of GM crops.
In addition, the law has also been negatively perceived by companies that are developing GM crop varieties.
