According to the Brazilian National Agency for the supply, Conab, in January- March 2013 Brazil imported 1894.7 thousand tons of wheat and 46.7 thousand tons of wheat flour. During the same period last year- 1535.0 thousand tons and 159.9 thousand tons, respectively. Almost all import of these goods was provided by Argentina, despite the fact that Argentine wheat harvest fell to 9.4 million tons, that is by 5.1 million tons less than last season. This year, within three months, Argentina supplied Brazil with 1530.5 thousand tons of wheat and 31.8 thousand tons of wheat flour.
