Informa Economics Raised its Forecasts for Global Wheat and Corn Yields in 2013/14
Informa Economics agency has revised its forecasts of global wheat production in 2013/2014 season rising the number to 704.2 million tons (previously estimated number was at 698.7 million tons; in 2012/2013 season 654.1 million tons).

Improved prospects of the future harvest are in Canada, collecting 29.0 (28.0; 27.2) million tons of wheat, as well as in China – 120.0 (118.0; 120.6) million tons, and the U.S. - 60.4 (60.2; 61.8) million tons. Winter wheat production in the U.S. will decline by 1% during next season, if compared to the current season, and will be 44.39 million tons.
Total harvest forecast has not changed for European Union- 138.0 (138.0; 132.3) million tons, Russia 55.5 (55.5; 38.0) million tons, and Ukraine -22.4 (22.4; 15.8) million tons.
Informa Economics agency has raised slightly its estimates for world’s total corn yield in the following season, to 975.7 million tons (previous forecast- 975.3 million tons, in 2012/2013 season – 851.6 million tons).
China will harvest more corn than expected previously- 213.0 (205.0; 208.0) million tons. FAS USDA estimates the future corn yield in China less optimistically- 210 million tons.
Experts of Informa Economics have lowered their forecasts of total corn yield for the U.S. to 367.2 (374.8; 273.8) million tons.
European Union countries may rise 64.8 (64.8; 54.7) million tons of corn, Brazil- 70.0 (70.0; 72.0) million tons, Argentina -27.0 (27.0; 25.3) million tons.
