"According to preliminary data from regions, all sown area of crops in all categories of the harvest in 2016 is expected to reach 26.7 million hectares or in 2015" - said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksiy Pavlenko. "In the 2015/16 marketing year, grain exports could reach more than 36 million tons and it will be the highest export and stable foreign exchange earnings to the country's budget" - added the Minister.

Grain crops in all categories of households is projected to spread over an area 14.6 million hectares or 55% of total crop area that meets the standards optimum ratio crops in the rotation.
Planting of spring crops is projected on an area of 7.5 million hectares, including the early spring grain - 2.6 million hectares. The structure of a wedge grain harvest in 2016 may be adjusted depending on conditions of wintering of winter crops by optimizing the areas of spring crops, including corn and cereals later.
The largest area sown in the Mykolaiv region - 100.3 thousand ha (61% of the forecast), Odessa - 100.3 thousand ha (61%), Kherson - 85.2 thousand ha (48%) and Zaporozhye - 72, 9 thousand ha (34%).

According regions currently anticipated availability of seeds of spring crops (excluding maize) in all categories of farms is 596.6  thousand tons, which is 101% needed.
