Union of Ukrainian Poultry Breeders predicts stable prices for the products until the end of 2014

According to Alexander Bakumenko, the chairman of the board of directors of "Union of Poultry Breeders of Ukraine" association, in Ukraine, prices for poultry products will remain at the current level until the end of 2014; this was reported on October, 21 by the "Interfax-Ukraine" agency.

“Everything related to devaluation of hryvnia, has already been incorporated in the price” — he said.

According to the head of the association, since the beginning of this year prices for poultry products increased by 15%, on average; mainly due to devaluation, which caused an increase in production costs.

Mr. Bakumenko also added that main condition for keeping poultry and egg prices stabile are stable grain prices, lack of negative macroeconomic impact.

According to the forecasts of the Union of Poultry Breeders of Ukraine, in 2014, the country will increase its production of chicken by about 12% compared with 2013- up to 1.35 million tons. Increase in egg production is projected to range 1.5-2%- up to 19.28-19.38 billion units.
