In 2014/15 MY, world’s forecast of oilseed harvest was increased by more than 8 million tons

In their latest report, analysts of Oil World forecasted world’s total oilseed harvest in 2014/15 season to be 519.73 million tons, 8.78 million tons more than was previously estimated and is significantly higher than in the previous MY (489.2 million tons).

In particular, world’s harvest of soybeans in 2014/15 MY is expected to reach 310.8 million tons, against 306.73 million tons that were estimated earlier and 285.150 million tons last season. The upward adjustment has affected the United States — to 106.5 (103.85; 92.1) million tons and Brazil- to 92 (90; 86.12) million tons.

Forecast for rapeseed harvest, on the other hand, was reduced by 1.21 million tons — to 67.5 million tons, against 69.96 million tons a season earlier. The forecast was adjusted downward for Canada — to 14.2 (14.4; 18.2) million tons and Russia — to 1.5 (1.6; 1.39) million ton.

As for sunflower harvest- it is expected to be 41.37 (41.59, 42.47) million tons. The downward adjustment affected Ukraine as well- to 10.7 (11; 11.05) million tons and Russia — to 9.5 (9.7; 10) million ton.
