Ukrainian farmers have more prospects in Asia than in Europe
Anton Usov, senior adviser at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, believes that Ukrainian farmers need to assess their opportunities on European Union markets.
In order to enter the market it would be appropriate to use the experience of Eastern Europe (such as Poland).
Open European market does not mean that all Ukrainian companies will automatically be able to supply their goods onto the market and compete with the producers Europe of European Union.
It should also be remembered that the European market is delimited and has a powerful agricultural lobby and its zones of influence. According to Mr. Usov, agricultural producers of Ukraine, in addition to expensive work related to product certification, will face strong competition, as well as strong market players.
Furthermore, the expert is convinced that at the time given Ukrainian producers have much more opportunities on Asian and African markets; where domestic producer is able to offer adequate competition in quality and attractive price. Especially, these markets are very receptive and awaiting for new products, including the Ukrainian.
