In the first six months export of Ukrainian agricultural products increased by 4.6%

During January-June 2014, compared with the same period in 2013, exports of Ukrainian agricultural sector increased by $0.344 billion, and totaled to $7.906 billion; this is over 27% of country’s total exports. This, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, has been announced on August 27 by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Andriy Dykun.

According to him, more than 37% of export of the agricultural sector is accounted for grains, and 25% — sunflower oil.

Also, Mr. Dykun noted that over past six months export of Ukrainian goods to the Russian Federation decreased by 31% compared to the same period in 2013 and amounted to $1.011 billion.

“Currently, there is a declining trend in exports to Russia, yet, at the same time, there is an increasing supplies of Ukrainian products to other countries. The main export destinations for Ukraine are the EU countries (33%) and Asia (32%),”- said the Deputy Minister.
