In 2013, Ukraine has exceeded its plans of grain export volume of a new harvest. There was 18.5 million tons of domestic grain delivered onto foreign markets. This exceeds last marketing year results, at the same time period, by more than 4 times. This was announced by the Minister of agrarian Policy and Food, Mykola Prysiazhniuk.

“In 2013, we have exceeded our previously planned grain export volume. This is extremely important since it indicates the structured work of domestic grain logistics. That is, since the beginning of the year farmers sent abroad 18.5 million tons of grain. And, that exceeds export volumes of the previous marketing year by more than 4 times. The indicator is exceptionally high”, — noted Mykola Prysiazhniuk.

According to the Minister, high rate of grain supplies to foreign markets were achieved during November and December. That is, in November farmers sent abroad 4.6 million tons of grains, while in December — 4.4 million tons.
“Our grain is highly competitive on the market, evidence of that is a high demand for it. Therefore, in the future we will continue working on opening new markets. Ukraine has already proved that it greatly influences global food security situation. In the next year we will be working on confirming such positions”, — Mykola Prysiazhniuk added.
