As of June 25, Ukraine's grain yield amounted to 1.3 million tons
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, as of June 25, 2014 early grains and legumes were harvested in nine different regions of the country, on an area of 465 thousand hectares.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, as of June 25, 2014 early grains and legumes were harvested in nine different regions of the country, on an area of 465 thousand hectares. Yielding 27.6 centners/hectare (in 2013 — 24.4 c/ha) there was 1,286 tons of new grain collected. In particular:
- Barley harvested on 429 thousand hectares with an average yield of 28.1 c/ha, 1 204 tons was harvested;
- Wheat harvested on 36 thousand hectares with an average yield of 22.6 c/ha, 82 thousand tons was harvested;
- Peas harvested on 0.4 thousand with an average yield of 22.2 c/ha, 0.8 thousand tons was harvested;
- Rape harvested on 27 thousand hectares with an average yield of 17.1 c/ha, 46 thousand tons was harvested
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in 2014 harvesting area under early grain and leguminous in Ukraine will total 10.3 million hectares, including: area under wheat- 6.4 million hectares, barley — 3.2 million hectares. Area under the rapeseed is forecasted to be 942 thousand hectares.
