In Ukraine oats harvesting campaign has started. On July 7, 6.7 million hectares of early grains has been trashed
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, as of July 7, 2014 there are 2342 hectares of early grain and leguminous crops threshed. With an average yield of 28.8 c/ ha (in 2013 - 27.4 c/ ha) there is 6748 tons of grain collected.
In particular:
— Barley was threshed on 1143 thousand hectares; average yield 28. 1c/ ha (in 2013 — 24.9 c/ ha), 3209 thousand tons has been collected;
— Wheat was threshed on 1153 thousand hectares; average yield 29.9c/ ha (in 2013 — 28.9 c/ ha), 3451 thousand tons has been collected;
— Rye was threshed on 0.9 thousand hectares; average yield 17.2 c/ ha (in 2013 — 22.3 c/ ha), 16 thousand tons has been collected;
— Peas were threshed on 44 thousand hectares; average yield 19.6 c/ ha (in 2013 — 14 c/ ha), 86 thousand tons has been collected;
Also, oats harvesting season has began. On the date specified, 0.1 thousand hectares has been trashed; average yield 25 c/ha, total current yield is 0.3 thousand tons of grain.
Furthermore, rape was threshed on 285 thousand hectares with an average yield of 17.7 c/ ha (in 2013 — 19 c / ha), yielding 503 thousand tons.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, during 2014 harvesting area of early grains and leguminous in Ukraine will amount 10.3 million hectares; that includes area under wheat — 6.4 million ha, barley — 3.2 million hectares. Harvesting area under rapeseeds is forecasted to be 942 thousand hectares.
