Demand from the EU revived world sunflower oil market
According to analysts Oil World, in October and February 2015/16 MY sunflower oil shipment from three key countries increased by 17% - to 2.95 mln. tons vs. 2.52 mln. tons in the same period a year earlier.
Of the said amount Ukraine supplied to external markets 2.04 (1.72) million tons of products, Russia - 0.71 (0.68) mln. tons and Argentina - 202 (114) thousand tons.
A key factor in the growth of world sunflower oil market this season is a significant increase in demand for products from the EU against the background of a significant reduction in the production and processing of sunflower seeds in Europe. Since the beginning of the season in this area was delivered 0,64 mln. tons of oil, which is more than 2 times the result of the previous year (0.28 mln. tons).
Also increased demand for sunflower oil observed on the part of China, which this season has imported 358 (202) thousand tons of products. In turn, India, Iran and North Africa shifted slightly on purchase more attractive in terms of price oil.
