According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food as of March 19, Ukraine sowed 927 thousand hectares with early spring crops, or 32% of the forecast.

According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food as of March 19, Ukraine sowed 927 thousand hectares with early spring crops, or 32% of the forecast.

According to the report, the number includes barley on an area of 711 thousand hectares, peas — 95 thousand hectares, wheat — 48 thousand hectares, oats — 63 thousand hectares.

In addition, according to the information of the Ministry, the process of sugar beet sowing has begun: by March 19, the crop was planted on an area of 4 thousand hectares.

As reported, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food forecasted spring crops to be planted on an area of 8.6 million hectares, including early spring crops on an area of 2.9 million hectares. In the current year the Ministry was expecting to re-plant winter crops on an area of nearly 500 thousand hectares, of 7.8 million hectares panted.
