World corn production may surpass last season's record

Informa Economics Agency has sharply increased its forecast for global corn yield in the 2014/2015 season. It is expected that the gross yield of this crop will reach 986.8 million tons, which is 12.5 million tons more than previously forecasted and by 0.1 million tons exceeds the record figure of 2013/2014 season.

The United States will harvest 355.3 million tons of corn (previous forecast — 348.8 million tons, in 2013/2014 season — 353.7 million tons), China — 220.0 (220.0 and 218.5) million tons, Brazil — 72.1 (72.0 and 78.1) million tons, the EU — 67.8 (66.4 and 64.6) million tons, Ukraine — 28.5 (27.0 and 30.9) million tons, Argentina — 26.2 (26.2 and 26.0) million tons, Mexico — 22.5 (22.5 and 21.9) million tons.
