China may import record volumes of bards and sorghum

According to Reuters, in the current year China’s demand for imported forage raw materials will remain high.

China National Grain and Oilseed Information Centre (CNGOIC) predict that imports of dry bards, a byproduct of corn processing, will repeat last year’s record- 5.4 million tons.

Imports of sorghum in the current season (October-September) will also be a record- 6.0 million tons. During 2013/14 season China imported 4.2 million tons of sorghum.

The United States are the key supplier of bards and sorghum to China.
