Recall, currently China is experiencing a shortage of corn. Its import quota for 2013 has already been exhausted; and, until the new harvest and the new calendar year, when it will become possible to import, the country will suffer shortage of grain. Domestic prices for corn are hitting record highs, while refiners are shifting towards cheaper American sorghum.
This year Ukrainian exporters for the first time have succeeded in entering the Chinese market, and during following season they probably will use every opportunity to increase their presence, especially, considering the surplus market conditions prevailing at the global corn market.
