As of May 13, Ukraine sowed spring grains and legumes on the area of 7.7 million hectares, or 94% of the forecasted.
As of May 13, Ukraine sowed spring grains and legumes on the area of 7.7 million hectares, or 94% of the forecasted. Including 4.5 million hectares of corn planted for seeds.
Currently, seeding of late grains- buckwheat, millet - is being completed.
This was stated by Mr. Prysyazhnyuk Mykola, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the press service of the Ministry reports.
“Taking into account weather forecasts for the month and pace of spring sowing, the seeding process in Ukraine will be completed in the nearest future. There is still about 6% of land to be seeded of the prior forecast. Currently, we are successfully sowing corn, buckwheat, millet, rice and other late crops. Condition of winter crops is still mainly good and satisfactory”, - noted Mr. Prysyazhnyuk Mykola.
