By April 5, Ukraine Sowed 30% of Projected Area by Early Grains
Per the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, as of April 5, Ukraine has sowed early grains and legumes on 876 thousand hectares, or 30% of previously estimated.

According to the report, currently, sowing process is going on in 11 regions, and is completed in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Odessa, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions The Ministry of Agrarian Policy has also reported that present condition of winter crops on the 7.4 million hectares (92% of crops) is currently valued as good and satisfactory, weak and thinned crops on 0.65 million hectares (8%).
As reported, due to weather conditions crops in Ukraine are sowed later than usually.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy predicted that area under spring grains and legumes in Ukraine may reach 8.1 million hectares in 2013, which is almost 10% less than in 2012.
This year the Ministry was also expecting to re-seed no more than 5% of winter wheat planted on 8.1 million hectares.
