In December 2013, China has significantly increased its volumes of imports of oilseeds. During the reporting period, supply of soybeans into the country reached 7.4 million tons, against 5.89 million tons in the same month a year earlier.

During the reporting period, supply of soybeans into the country reached 7.4 million tons, against 5.89 million tons in the same month a year earlier.
In particular, to above mentioned direction the U.S. shipped 5.94 (4.79) million tons of oilseeds, Brazil — 0.57 (0.12) million tons, Argentina — 436 (437) thousand tons. Overall, in 2013 there was  63.41 (58.28) million tons of soybeans delivered to China, of which Brazil has shipped 31.81 (23.89) million tons, Argentina — 6.12 (5.9) million tons. The U.S. has somewhat reduced its soybean supplies — down to 22.27 (25.97) million tons.
With regard to imports of rapeseed to China — in December, 2013 it amounted 0.51 (0.22) million tons. Of this, Canada supplied the country with 316 (212) thousand tons of the oilseed, Australia — 183 thousand tons; while a year earlier Australia did not ship the crop in question to China.
During 2013, China imported 3.66 (2.82) million tons of rapeseed, 2.79 (2.81) million tons of which were of Canadian origin, and 0.86 million tons — from Australia.
