Global Grain Production Will Increase by 7% During 2013/14MY - IGC

According to official sources, the IGC analysts expect world grain production to grow by about 7% in 2013/14 MY- to 1.91 billion tons compared to 1.78 billion tons in 2012/13 season. 

According to official sources, the IGC analysts expect world grain production to grow by about 7% in 2013/14 MY- to 1.91 billion tons compared to 1.78 billion tons in 2012/13 season. To achieve the specified index will be possible through increasing product’s acreage and higher yields.

In particular, the IGC analysts expect an increase in global corn production during 2013/14 MY to 939 million tons compared with 851 million tons in the current season; while amount of grain ending stocks - at 143 million tons against 117 million tons in 2012 / 13MY.
World production of wheat in the coming season, according to the IGC, also may rise to 680 million tons against 655 million tons in 2012/13MY, taking that, grain ending stocks will grow to 181 million tons against 179 million tons in the current season.
