Reported Mr. Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy, during the Government Hour in Verkhovna Rada.
He noted that export of agricultural products, as compared to the same period last year, grew by 10.7%, while foreign trade turnover - by 14.8%. Also greatly expanded the geography of exports, in particular, the opening of new markets in Japan, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of South Africa. "In recent years, Ukraine has significantly strengthened its position in the export of agricultural products. We have proven our leadership in the global food market," - said the Minister. Mr. Prysiazhniuk recalled that in 2012 the export of agricultural products increased by 40% to 18.2 billion hryvnia, and the positive rate of the foreign trade surplus reached 10.4 billion dollars.
As reported, the Agriculture Ministry predicts an increase in agricultural exports by 21% to $ 22 billion in 2013, compared with 2012. In 2012, Ukrainian export of agricultural products was $18.2 billion, up 38.4%, or 5.046 billion dollars more than in 2011.
