Ukraine’s Berry Sector

Ukraine is steadily expanding its berry plantations and modernizing harvesting processes. Farmers are increasing acreage dedicated to raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and sea buckthorn, while large agricultural enterprises are introducing automated harvesting solutions. This opens up new opportunities for increasing production and exporting Ukrainian berries to European markets.

Innovation and Development

A new wave of “eRobota” grants is launching in February. The state will compensate up to 70–80% of the cost of projects aimed at establishing orchards and greenhouses. This year, special emphasis is placed on the construction of modern fruit and vegetable storage facilities, which will allow Ukrainian produce to be available on store shelves year-round, not just during the harvest season.

Niche Crops — A New Trend

Ukrainian farmers are increasingly cultivating flax, mustard, and sweet potatoes (batat). Demand for these crops in the EU is growing, and the price of oilseed flax this year is particularly encouraging — up to UAH 60,000 per ton. Niche crops are proving effective and profitable.

Ukraine’s agricultural sector continues to move forward confidently: technology, innovation, and new markets are becoming part of everyday operations.
